A friend posted this, checked out a 2wd truck at a dealer in Texas. $50k!!!

It's been a known fact that the truck's MSRP was way higher than early !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but man....a $5,000 market adjustment on a truck that's already priced way higher than it should be. A parts bin trucks that's the last year of an outgoing model, to boot. WTF?!?!

that;s the dealers 5k mark up which is b.s. almost as bad as that dealer that was selling 2014 Vettes for 25k over MSRP lol. but still you could almost buy a Raptor the 42k MSRP. the Tremor is litterally just a regular cab FX4 and you could by a Supercab FX4 for that price.

There's no reason to pay dealer's bullshit, and the Tremor isn't really overpriced if you get it for sticker (or below, because F150). It's not even a trim level, it's a regular cab FX2 with Ecoboost and 4.10 locking axle. That;s just how much trucks cost. A Ram 1500 Sport costs a few grand less and is a few grand less truck.

I love 2wd rcsb trucks. I have a couple, including a Ram R/T. Does everything I need a truck to do, but I would have never paid 45k for it. MSRP was 32k, and I paid a lot less than that for it.

This is all crap.

I was at a dealer the other day and they tacked on $75 onto the price of every new car for nitrogen filled tires. CMax Energi on eco tires? N2 filled tires. MKZ? N2 tires. Fiesta ST? N2 tires. $75 the buyer HAS to pay if he wants to buy the car from that dealer. Bullshit.

This is the same thing except on a much higher level. What if I don't want the $500 windshield repair plan? What if I don't want "vehicle protection" for $1k. Or a $500 bed liner? This is a $42k truck, and thats how much I would pay for it.

That's what I'm saying. I spent a lot of time "Test Driving" a 4x2 Ram w the 5.7 Hemi(I worked at a Chrylser dealerhip). It was an awesome ride, and you could buy it for less that 28k and probly keep up with a Tremor.

The add ons are complete horseshit, I agree.

Personally, I think even 42k for a 2wd rcsb truck that's a bunch of bolt ons to an outgoing model is a bit much as it is. It's not like the OEM isn't complicent with add-ons....weren't the splash graphics(which were on pretty much every truck on dealer lots) on the Raptor close to 2k?

That's what I'm saying, they were applied at the factory so the consumer didn't have much of a choice but to pay for them. Dealers aren't the only one that add in markups for shit that isn't necessary.

Well if you ordered a Raptor without graphics you didn't pay for them. The problem is that most dealers ordered them with graphics so if you were buying off the lot you had to pay for them. Only downside to ordering your own truck was that you'd have to wait.

I actually got lucky with my Mustang. The guy that ordered it configured a very undesirable option combo, but then didn't get his financing approved so the dealer got stuck with it. Then I came along and said the car was perfect minus the subwoofer, so they agreed to knock most of that option cost off for me just to finally get rid of the car.

They don't sell the r/t any more. The closest would be a Sportsman with the 3.91 axle which is ten grand cheaper, but that's a stripped out truck vs the Tremor. That may or may not be a good thing.

Yeah, I get that. The truck was hard enough to find on a lot, adding the graphics to all of them was an easy way to add to the profit margin.

I had a friend that did the same thing for his Mustang. Found a trak pak car our East with pretty much no other options, some ordering faux-pas or something. Got a screaming deal in it.

Yes they do. At least they did, I don't see them on the site to build now, but they did the last time I looked and I know a couple guys that bought them. The 14s don't have 4.10 gears but they have the new 8 speed transmission.

The Sportsman isn't 10k cheaper, it's 17k cheaper. The R/T was 10k cheaper.

That has a Tremor package(1795), a Tremor plus package(1995), plus a FX appearance package(2,480...which I believe comes on every Tremor). Those add up to 6,270.

The only thing that isn't mandatory is the Tremor Plus. The Tremor is a FX with add ons. The absolute cheapest Tremor you can build is just under 40k after delivery charge.

The Tremor is just a FX2 regular cab with Ecoboost, it;s not a trim level itself. Before I figured that out I was having a hell of a time trying to build one on Fords site- it just wasn't there.
